このコースの基礎は、フレッド・L・ミッチェル・ジュニア（Fred L. Mitchell, Jr., DO, FAAO, FCA）が、60年以上にわたる学習と教育、研究、そしてクラニアル・オステオパシーの臨床と科学への貢献の中で、独自に開発したものです。
クラニアル・オステオパシーの世界的権威として知られるミッチェル博士は、1963年、クラニアル・オステオパシーの最初のコースを受講したときから、これを正式に学び始めました
：そのコースの講師陣には、ハロルド・マグーン・ジュニア、トーマス・スクーリー、アン・ウェールズ、ルー・ハスブルック、アラン・ベッカー、ロバート・フルフォード、オリーブ・ストレッチなど、頭蓋の歴史における錚々たる顔ぶれが名を連ねており、全員ではないにせよ、講師の多くはサザーランド博士その人に師事していました。
その最初のコース以来、ミッチェル博士は頭蓋の歴史における初期の伝説的人物の多くと一緒に学び、仕事をする機会を得ました。

元々、彼のコースの内容は、クラニアル・アカデミーのクラニアル基礎コースの要件を満たすためにデザインされたものでしたが、当時から60年の間に、彼のコースは、科学と教育学、そして理論と実践の理解の進歩を反映するために、拡大され、洗練され、さらに発展してきました。

このコースを受講した後、多くの人が、初めて頭蓋オステオパシーをより実践的に理解し、頭蓋機構の操作可能な障害を正確に診断し、効果的に治療していることをより確実に感じられるようになったと報告しています。

THE MITCHELL INSTITUTE FOR ADVANCED OSTEOPATHY

JAPAN OSTEOPATHIC ACADEMY

MITCHELL’S RATIONAL CRANIAL OSTEOPATHY ADVANCED COURSE
Instructor: P. Kai Mitchell, BA, Dip.O.M.T.

This basis of this course was originally developed by Fred L. Mitchell, Jr., DO, FAAO, FCA during his 60 plus years of study, teaching, research, and contribution to Cranial Osteopathy practice and science. Recognized as one of the world’s top authorities on Cranial Osteopathy, Dr. Mitchell began his formal study of Cranial Osteopathy in 1963 when he took his first course on the subject; a course whose instructors included a who’s who in Cranial history: Harold Magoun, Jr., Thomas Schooley, Ann Wales, Lou Hasbrouck, Alan Becker, Robert Fulford, and Olive Stretch. Many, if not all, of the instructors had studied with Dr. Sutherland himself. Since that first course, Dr. Mitchell had the opportunity to study and work with many of the early legends of Cranial History.

Originally, the content of his course was designed to fulfill the Cranial Academy’s requirements for a Basic Cranial Course, but in the past 60 years since that time his course was expanded and refined and further developed to reflect advancements in science and pedagogy, and theoretical and practical understanding. In his writings and works as an instructor, Dr. Mitchell has always strived to bring the standards of science to the protocols and practice of Osteopathy, and in that vein, one issue he wanted to address in his cranial course was to present content that was more rationally based and reproducible, and less focused on the cranial techniques which are more purely subjective in their orientation. Instead of emphasizing techniques that followed tension states in the dura, for example, Dr. Mitchell favored a approach that focused more on reproducible protocols that were observable, and whenever possible allowed for an alternative assessment that could confirm the results of the other protocol. The result was an organized systematic sequential diagnostic algorithm that starts at the OA and the base of the occiput and then works around the temporal bone, and then proceeds into evaluation and treatment of the facial and occlusal structures. With this outline, Dr. Mitchell believed that his comprehensive and structured approach would allow for any manipulable disorders of the cranium to be diagnosed and treated and less likely to be missed, and that this goal could be achieved efficiently and effectively. After taking this course, many have reported that for the first time they feel like they have a much more practical understanding of cranial osteopathy, and a greater assurance that they are accurately diagnosing and effectively treating manipulable disorders in the cranial mechanism.

Building on the work of his father, Kai Mitchell, BA, Dip.O.M.T., has developed important innovations and applications in the field of cranial osteopathy. Included in these latest additions are a better understanding of the relationship between cervical arthrokinematics and cranial function and its effect on diagnostic algorithms, a better understanding of the relationship between cervical muscle dyskinesia and cranial dysfunction, and a significant expansion of the diagnosis and treatment of intraosseous strains effecting the cranium and malocclusion in the patient.

This course is divided into six parts:

カイ・ミッチェル, BA, Dip.O.M.T. は、30年以上にわたり、父親のフレッド・L・ミッチェルJr., DO, FAAO, FCAとオステオパシー徒手療法診療所での活動を共にし、OMTの指導と普及に積極的に取り組んできました。また、父親との共著である「筋肉エネルギー・マニュアル」などのテキストの執筆も行っています。

また、カイ氏は生涯を通じて、オステオパシー徒手療法界療界の「偉人」達からトレーニングを受ける機会に恵まれてきました。

現在は The Mitchell Institute for Advance Osteopathy の副所長であり、東京の日本オステオパシー学会、およびカナダはトロントにあるオステオパシー科学アカデミーで非常勤講師を務めています。

For over 30 years, Kai Mitchell, BA, CMT, Dip.O.M.T. has shared an Osteopathic Manipulative practice with his father, Fred L. Mitchell, Jr., DO, FAAO, FCA, been actively involved in teaching and advancing the practice of OMT, and has written several texts including The Muscle Energy Manuals, which he co-authored with his father. Through out his lifetime, Kai has also had the benefit of receiving training from some of the “Greats” of Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy. He is the Assistant Director of the Mitchell Institute for Advanced Osteopathy, and also currently adjunct faculty at the Japanese Osteopathic Academy in Tokyo, Japan, and the Academy of Osteopathic Science in Toronto, Canada.

受講条件：（必須）頭蓋オステオパシーをすでに履修済みであること※
　　　　　（推奨）ミッチェル筋肉エネルギー頸部・ART・オシレーション・骨内ストレインの理解
※JOA以外の頭蓋オステオパシー履修でも受講可能です。
